How Chinese Herbal Medicine Works

Traditional Chinese herbal medicine treatment is different from anything you’ve experienced with Western medicine, naturopathy, or functional medicine. One of the many key differences is that we use custom herbal formulas that are unique and highly specific to each individual. We also check in on your progress frequently (every 2 to 4 weeks) to make sure you are improving. As your body changes, your formula changes as well. This is a time intensive process on the practitioner end, but it is the backbone of Chinese herbal medicine and why we see consistently high success rates in a wide range of chronic illnesses. 

If you decide to start treatment with me, we will be entering into a clinical relationship that will last months or in some cases years. Please consider if you are ready to truly commit time and attention to your healing process before you start.

Custom Clinical Herbal Medicine Treatment

Scheduling a consultation is the first step for clients who want to start clinical herbal medicine treatment with custom formulas. I am not going to recommend a dozen supplements and see you again in 6 months. The cost of treatment with custom granule extract formulas is $300-400 per month depending on the frequency of evaluation. The average treatment plan lasts 3 to 6 months to achieve relief, stabilization, and transition to maintenance. Most conditions, like chronic sinus infections, respond best to treatment with custom formulas. 

Protocol Herbal Medicine Treatment

Some conditions are suited to treatment protocols with Classical Pearls capsule formulas. This includes conditions like chronic yeast infections, UTIs, BV, some digestive conditions, and some skin conditions. The average cost of a Classical Pearls protocol is $240/month, though it can be more or less depending on dosage, and depending on frequency of evaluation. Protocols consist of one to two Classical Pearls capsule formulas.

Many conditions, especially complex and severe conditions, are not suited to treatment protocols with capsules. This is because using capsules reduces my available options of formulas to treat you with from tens of thousands of unique custom formulas to a few dozen formulas that exist in pre-made capsules.
